Information for CAMHS Units

Would you like to receive some gifts to give to the children and young people on your CAMHS unit? If you are based in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, we’d love to send some gifts to you!

We give small safe gifts for each individual young person to keep. We also send gift wrap and gift tags so you can wrap the gifts yourselves once you've checked them, plus usually a gift for the whole unit to enjoy too. We will never send sharps, breakable items, glass, aerosols, pencil sharpeners etc.

The gifts normally arrive in early December, giving you plenty of time to prepare them for the big day!

How do i request gifts?

We ask you to fill our a gift request form (which is sent via email) in October in plenty of time so our volunteer elves can prepare your packages. This should be completed by one member of staff per unit.

You may like to prepare some answers to the questions with your young people before filling in the form. The questions include:

• Which of these items would your young people like to receive as gift (select all that apply)? If there are any small gifts not on this list that your young people might like we will ask you about that too!

  • Colouring books, dot-to-dot books, sticker books

  • Puzzle books, activity books, sudoku books

  • Notebooks and pens

  • Craft sets eg origami (no sharps)

  • Model Building Kits

  • Fiction books

  • Fact books such as annuals (football, Star Wars, dinosaurs etc) and funny books

  • Inspirational books/journals on hope, confidence, how to cope

  • Knitting materials

  • Crochet Kits

  • Nail Art Stickers/Transfers

  • Fluffy socks

  • Small Jigsaw

  • Small Lego

  • Large sensory toys (e.g. Tangles)

  • Slime/Putty sensory toys

  • Girls' Toiletries (shower gels, body lotions, lip balms, face masks - no bath toiletries)

  • Boys' Toiletries (shower gels, lotions etc - no bath toiletries)

  • Cuddly toy (e.g. beaver, rabbit, teddy)

  • Small games (e.g. cards, top trumps)
    

• We like to send wards a gift to enjoy together too - this might be sports equipment, a board game, craft items or puzzles - costing around £10-15. What would your ward like?
